Job Description

  • Support of offshore operations,
  • Facilitate maintenance activities of the SITE team through adequate preparation (spare parts verification etc…)

HSE:

  • Establishes and maintains a strong safety culture in line with Company HSE Requirements and Rules
  • Ensures that COMPANY’s HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility,
  • Ensures compliance with Operating Procedures & Guidelines with the asset to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety and Plan Integrity

Main Functions (applicable to all specialities)

  • Review preventive maintenance program validity.
  • Check availability of means to complete it as and when required.
  • Assist the SITE as required for corrective maintenance
  • Prepare work pack for specific maintenance job when requested
  • Analyse CMMS report for his field of competence and recommend improvement solutions to COMPANY as required
  • Set up and implement technical procedures, follow-up and update maintenance procedure in relation with COMPANY representatives,
  • Ensures quality of the maintenance operations : preparation of intervention files, work orders, reporting, CMMS.

Profile
We are primarily looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following skills:

  • Equivalent of DUT/BTS (French), B.Sc. Electrical Engineering (2.1),
  • 5 years of general industrial maintenance
  • Ability to work in a multinational team.
  • Ability to work in a service relationship.
  • Competence/experience in electricity.

Job Title: System Engineer

Mission

  • SPIE Global Services Energy is looking for a Skilled and Experienced System Engineer to play a pivotal role in supervising the ICSS vendor for a major project in Lagos, Nigeria.

What’s the Role?

  • As a System Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of this critical project, ensuring seamless integration, validation, and implementation of the ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System). Here’s what you’ll do:

Engineering Development:

  • Ensure the ICSS vendor has access to all relevant and up-to-date documentation for system development.
  • Oversee the design and engineering process to guarantee alignment with project specifications.

Vendor Coordination:

  • Act as the primary interface with the ICSS vendor, managing all technical and operational interactions.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to the delivery schedule, identifying and resolving potential roadblocks early.

Solution Validation:

  • Plan, oversee, and track all validation milestones, including document reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

Site Preparation:

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Industrial Electronics, or Industrial Computing.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in control systems engineering, preferably in FPSO or offshore environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex SIS is essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in DCS and SIS programming (IEC 61131-3) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus,OPC, Ethernet).
  • Solid knowledge of safety standards and redundant systems in offshore settings.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively in multicultural teams.
  • Willingness to travel and work offshore (BOSIET/OPITO certification is a plus).

HSE:

  • Ensures HSE policy fulfillment during his activities and is responsible to ensures compliance with HSE (occupational and process) Legislation, Company Standards and Procedures
  • Ensures record keeping and reporting of action items from Process Hazard Analyses, Incident Investigations, Root Cause
  • Operates in conformity with mechanical codes, standards, regulations and industry best practices

Operations:

  • Organizes on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility,
  • Assists the planning team by giving any technical support for the preparation of the jobs in his discipline.
  • With his teams assists specialists working under Specific Maintenance Contracts (SMC),
  • Ensures that COMPANY’s HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility,
  • Manages interventions using the CMMS and checks intervention reports in the CMMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the technical reports related to his field,
  • Ensures that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within his teams, and actively participates in this himself,
  • Manage the maintenance all mechanical equipment (Gearboxes, Pumps, Compressors, Gas compressor, Cranes, Accumulators, heat exchangers, Fans, Lifeboats, Liferaft, Diesel generators SDG/EDG, Firefighting package, Strainers & filters).
  • Knowledge of Pumps (Centrifugal, Diaphragm, Piston, Gear, Peristaltic, Dosing, Lubrication pumps), Compressors (Piston, Scroll, Screw, Centrifugal, Vane compressors).
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in mechanical systems, Air compressors, Gas lift compressor, Water injection systems, Cranes, pumps, etc.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
    Asset Care routine to ensure PM/CM close-out and Integrity of Asset maintained.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical issues using appropriate testing devices.

Methods:

  • Provide support in repair, installation, and commissioning
  • Analyses indicators provided by the CMMS, stock management and intervention reports with a view to improving maintenance in his area (HSE, availability, preservation of equipment, optimization of costs),
  • Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyses them and suggests improvements,
  • Keeps a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programs and, if need be, suggests improvements,
  • Warns support teams of any recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts,
  • Suggests improvements and requests modifications.

Profile:

  • He is responsible for the quality of studies carried out by back-up teams and ensures the satisfactory performance of on-site operations by organizing audits and reviews. He contributes to a good level of availability of the installations on production sites by generally ensuring the quality of maintenance.
  • He defines the maintenance policy based on the objectives of COMPANY and those of the subsidiary.
  • He makes sure that operations are carried out in strict compliance with COMPANY’s current safety rules and operational procedures and in accordance with standard industry practice.
  • He analyses maintenance performance from both the technical and the economic viewpoint and takes the necessary actions to reach his set objectives regarding availability and costs.

Qualifications
The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND / HNC (A-levels + 3 years’ study) or BTS/DUT or equivalent,
  • +10 years’ experience minimum in the maintenance field on oil and gas production installations,
  • Good knowledge of Gearboxes, Gas compressor, Cranes, Accumulators, heat exchangers, Fans, Lifeboats, Liferaft, Diesel generators SDG/EDG, Firefighting package, Strainers & filters, Pumps (Centrifugal, Diaphragm, Piston, Gear, Peristaltic, Dosing, Lubrication pumps), Compressors (Piston, Scroll, Screw, Centrifugal, Vane compressors)
  • SAP/R3 experience and know-how
  • Physical ability to work on offshore installations in the climatic conditions of the site,
  • Working language: English Bright 3.5 (or equivalent)
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French & Portuguese language recommended
