Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years post-call experience in litigation.
  • Must have strong knowledge of current court decisions of superior courts and statutes.

Salary
N250,000 Monthly.

  • The candidate must have at least 7 – 10 years of post-call experience in core litigation.

  • The candidate must be able to conduct trials from start to finish.
  • The candidate must have had several High Court and Court of Appeal appearances alone.

Job Description

  • A reputable Law Firm in Abuja is recruiting a smart and committed Secretary to help handle a variety of administrative tasks and ensure smooth office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and screen phone calls and redirect them where appropriate.
  • Handle and prioritize all outgoing or incoming correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages, etc.)
  • Type, and format all letters, court processes, and other court documents as may be required.
  • Prepare the cause list for each week.
  • Prepare the firm’s conference room for meetings and serve refreshments as may be requested.
  • Handle confidential documents for the Principal Counsel ensuring they remain secure.
  • Collate and compile the firm’s client list.
  • Ensure that the reception area is tidy for entertaining visitors.
  • Request for, purchase and take inventory of all office supplies.
  • Update the inventory book and review the same daily to ensure all items are up to the approved stock level.
  • Distribute and monitor stationeries issued to staff to ensure it is adequately utilized.
  • Prepare and input requisitions for the purchase of office supplies on the payment approval platform for approvals.
  • Ensure the attendance registers and movement record books are well lined out for use and are in a good state and well kept.
  • Compile the attendance report for each day and send out a report to Management on the same daily.
  • Perform all other clerical and administrative functions as may be necessary.
  • Full compliance with the core values of the firm.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have at least an OND.
  • Must have prior experience as a secretary and have experience in customer service and communication.
  • Must be organized, time-conscious, and proactive.
  • Must exhibit excellent use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must have good interpersonal and team-playing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary
N100,000 Monthly.

Job Description

  • A reputable Law Firm in Abuja is recruiting a smart and committed Litigation Clerk to support the legal team with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting of minor court documentation such as Affidavit of Service.
  • Filing and service of court processes and proper and safe custody and maintenance of court records in relevant files.
  • Properly shelve case and assignment files.
  • Deliver letters and messages.
  • Undertake scanning, photocopying and binding tasks.
  • Undertake the organization and indexing of all case files in the File room and Archive.
  • Ensure that the file room is properly arranged and kept neat always.
  • Promptly follow up on dates, rulings and judgements obtained and filing deadlines and ensure regular updates on them are sent to the Senior Associates and Practice Manager.
  • Liaising and establishing good relationships with Bailiffs and Court Registrars.
  • Carry out the organisation and proper indexing of the library books.
  • Perform other functions as may be required.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have at least an SSCE certificate.
  • Experience in this capacity for at least three years within a Law Firm.
  • Must be organized, time conscious, good in record keeping, file arrangement and proactive.
  • Word-processing and team-building skills.

Salary
N120,000 / Month.
