2025 BI Presidential Scholarship Details
The BI Presidential Scholarship is offered annually by the Norwegian Business School to international students seeking to pursue Master’s degrees in Norway.
BI Norwegian Business School is the largest business school in Norway and the second-largest in Europe, with four campuses, including the main one in Oslo. BI employs 845 staff members, including 404 academic and 441 administrative personnel, and serves nearly 19,000 students. Since its establishment in 1983, BI has graduated over 200,000 students, making it Norway’s leading supplier of economic and administrative expertise.
BI Presidential Scholarships Norway 2025 Requirements:
To be eligible for the BI Presidential Scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess outstanding academic records (Norwegian or international citizenship).
- Have a minimum GPA of ‘A’ on the ECTS scale or equivalent top-level grades.
- Be a 3rd-year Sivøk programme student or a candidate admitted to an MSc programme at the Oslo or Bergen campuses (excluding the BI-Luiss Joint Master in Marketing).
- Maintain academic progression requirements, as outlined in the Scholarship Agreement, which include:
- Full study progression (30 ECTS) each semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of ‘B’ after each academic semester.
Recipients of the BI Presidential Scholarship are expected to serve as “BI Ambassadors,” assisting with recruitment efforts and promoting a positive study environment. Details about these responsibilities will be communicated during the academic year.
BI Presidential Scholarships 2025 Duration and Benefits
- For Norwegian and Internal Applicants: Scholarships cover full tuition fees for each semester, up to two years, if academic progression requirements are met.
- For International Applicants: Scholarships cover full tuition fees and provide a stipend for each semester, up to two years. The stipend assists with living expenses, covering approximately 70% of the total costs.
Important Notes
BI Norwegian Business School offers a generous number of scholarships for master’s studies, but competition is intense, as the number of applications exceeds the number of available scholarships each year. The institution prioritizes building a diverse and international student body. Only candidates admitted to a Master of Science programme, who apply as instructed, will be considered.
Other factors influencing scholarship decisions include additional academic achievements, GMAT/GRE/CAT scores, extracurricular activities, and personal accomplishments. International applicants for the BI Presidential Scholarship will also be considered for the MSc International Scholarship.
Notification of Scholarship Awards
- Scholarship offers are sent separately from admission offers. You will first receive your admission decision.
- Candidates must accept the offer of admission while waiting for scholarship decisions.
- Scholarship offers will be sent throughout the admissions cycle, and all decisions will be finalized by the end of April.
- Scholarships not accepted by the deadline will be awarded to another candidate.
Application Method
If you are interested in applying for the BI Presidential Scholarship in Norway, follow these steps:
- Apply for Admission: Submit an application for a Master’s degree at the Norwegian Business School.
- Scholarship Application: Simultaneously apply for the scholarship via the online application portal.
- Write a Scholarship Letter: Submit a one-page scholarship application letter explaining why you should be considered for the award (scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, not financial need).
- Upload Documents: Upload your scholarship application letter to the ‘Scholarship’ section of your admission application and ensure that all required documentation for admission is submitted.
Current BI students in their 3rd year of the Siviløkonom programme can apply in the spring of their 3rd year by sending their scholarship application letter to [email protected] with the subject line: BI Presidential Scholarship Application.
International applicants applying for the BI Presidential Scholarship will automatically be considered for the MSc International Scholarship, and a separate scholarship letter is not required.
