Job Title: Credit Admin Officer

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- First payment default – must ensure proper scrutiny of documents and a minimal likelihood of First payment default
- Fraud detection – Ensure all applications approved should be fraud free
- Minimizing approval error – Loans should be approved with less than 0.01% error. All loans approved should approve accurately and error free
- Numbers of transactions processed – Amount of transactions processed should not fall short of requirement
- Transaction processing turnover – must ensure all approved loans should not exceed the stipulated required time (maximum of 15minutes per file)
- Accuracy in Loan disbursement – must ensure accurate disbursement account validation prior to actual disbursement of funds
- Other underwriting related activities – must ensure other activities asides underwriting in the department are carried out smoothly and processed timely with accuracy
Requirements
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in credit administration or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with a knack for detail—errors simply can’t slip by!
- Comfort with using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal—you know how to engage with people!
- An ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Team Lead, SME Underwriting

The position
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SME Underwriting Team Lead to join our dynamic team.
- As the SME Underwriting Team Lead, you will play a critical role in overseeing the underwriting process for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking financing solutions.
- Your expertise in credit assessment, risk analysis, and team management will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our underwriting operations and the growth of our portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Manage and train the team of underwriters, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Coordinate the end-to-end underwriting process for SME loan applications. Review and assess creditworthiness, financial statements, and risk profiles of SMEs to determine eligibility for financing.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of SME loan applications, evaluating factors such as industry trends, market conditions, and borrower credit history. Ensure compliance with the company’s underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
- Analyze and interprete financial statements.
- Quantitative and qualitative assessment to identify and quantify the financial and business risks of the counterparty.
- Assess or understand the operating environment (i.e. industry, regulatory and legal risk) and how it impacts the risk profiles of clients.
- Make informed and data-driven lending decisions, balancing risk and reward. Collaborate with the Risk Infrastructure Lead to establish credit policies and guidelines for the underwriting team.
- Continue to improve the underwriting process by implementing best practices, leveraging technology, and refining credit risk models. Identify areas for process optimization and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and manage portfolio, which include making recommendations and/or providing input to further develop the bank’s lending policy.
- Liaise with various business units and stakeholders
- Interact with clients.
- Ensure that all underwriting activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies. Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in regulatory requirements.
- Collateral Management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certifications in Credit Risk Management is a plus.
- Proven experience in credit risk assessment and underwriting of SMEs and big Corporates, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership or team management capacity.
- Commercial banking experience as a credit analyst
- Modelling, assessing or advising on financial and business risks should form part of this experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements, assess creditworthiness, and make data-driven lending decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of lending regulations, risk management principles, and best practices in underwriting.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Demonstrated track record of process improvement and implementing automation or technology solutions to enhance underwriting efficiency.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset with a keen focus on portfolio performance and risk management.
- Experience in collateral management would be a plus.
